Reliable Internet access is a must for all businesses. However, if your customers and employees transact business through your web site, you may need "High-Availability" in addition to reliability.

What is High-Availability?

In general, High Availability means that your network and data are accessible 24 hours per day, 7 days per week (or as close to that as possible). This is usually accomplished by combining redundancy for a specific part of your network, such as a server, hub, disk drive or firewall, with "fail-over" software for that device. When a hardware failure occurs, the system will automatically switch from the "bad" device to the "good" device. Once this occurs, the defective unit must then be replaced and brought back on line.

How does it work?

As an option for our GuardDog Corporate and Enterprise products, our "High-Availability" solution is ideal for those sites that require uninterrupted access to their Web site or network. We provide the redundant hardware and software. Our security experts will monitor the status of your firewall and if a failure occurs, we will automatically send a replacement for the defective unit, reconfigure it to match your network and bring it back on-line.
